FAQs

+ WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

Wolfsbane Tattoo Collective. 3640 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR

+ Are you currently booking custom work? (updated January 2024)

Yes! However, as I move towards only booking flash, (aka pre-drawn designs) I have limited room for custom work and am prioritizing custom proposals that have something to do with these subjects:

tarot themed tattoos, works based on vintage scientific illustrations (specifically interested in recreating John audubon, Ernst Haeckel, and Walton ford illustrations) ocean creatures/ scenes, animals (birds!!), portraits, mythology, life/death themed scenes, scientific ecosystems, insects, classical art recreations, works including nude figures, matching tattoos with 2 or more people. large multi session pieces such as a back piece or full sleeve (these will require a larger budget and take 3+ sessions over many months)

I do not tattoo sacred geometry (small hints are sometimes ok) or text.

+ What do I need to tell you about my custom design ideas?

Please be specific and include exactly what you want in your proposal. You can also give me a loose concept or a list of things you want included and let me run with it!

+ I messaged you and haven't heard back - when will I hear back?

I get a lot of e-mails and DMS every day and I'm usually too busy to respond right away. I try to respond to all emails within 1-6 weeks. If you have an urgent question feel free to bug me on instagram dm or shoot me a text (my phone number is in my email signature) Please only text if you have a time sensitive question!

+ What are your rates?

I charge per piece instead of hourly. A custom tattoo session is usually in the $600-$1400 range, and sessions take anywhere between 1.5-5 hours! Please estimate your budget when filling out the booking form. Pricing is based on placement, detail, amount of design work, and size. I also like working out budget ahead of time so my clients know what to expect and aren’t stressed about racking up an hourly rate if the tattoo takes longer than expected. I accept Venmo, Cashapp, Paypal and cash! Tipping is not required, but standard tipping etiquette for a single session tattoo is 10%-20%. Tips can be given in the form of cash, venmo or cool things (I love plants, crystals, jewelry, tarot decks etc..) I offer sliding scale appointments for BIPOC, please request in the budget section of the booking form. Make sure to include what you are able to pay in the budget section and I can make it work!

+ How do I schedule an appointment?

Read through these FAQs to answer any questions you might have! Then submit a proposal online by clicking "Appointments" in the menu above and filling out the form!

+ How long will my tattoo take?

A full session is usually 1.5-4 hours. If you have a medium to larger piece, please leave your day open- I never rush a tattoo and I need to take breaks to stretch and eat, so its always best to allow extra time. Please let me know in advance if you know you’ll have a time restriction the day of your appointment.

+ What kind of ink do you use? Is it vegan?

I use Eternal Ink for color and Dynamic Ink for black. Both are vegan and made with plant-based glycerin.

+ Are you interested in trades?

Yes! I love trading tattoo work for all sorts of things. Email me and maybe we can work something out!

+ Can I bring a guest to my appointment?

One guest is fine. If you would like to bring a guest just let me know in advance!

+ When will I see the sketch?

I’ll show you the final sketch at your appointment. If you have a larger multi session piece I usually do a consultation, so you can get an idea of the overall composition of the tattoo, as well as talk more about any other details before I start drawing. If you see your drawing and want to make a few changes, I can make those the day of your appointment. We can also change the size and placement of the design at your appointment.

+ What is the booking fee?

The booking fee reserves your spot and confirms your intent to show up to your appointment. It helps cover the time I spend emailing, scheduling, researching ideas for your design, and drawing, which is why it is non-refundable. The booking fee is usually $40-100. It is not deducted from the overall cost of your tattoo. Minor revisions can be made to your sketch for free but I charge an additional booking fee if I have to redraw more than half of the design, so be sure to include as much detailed information about what you want as possible when submitting a proposal. Make sure to read through the next two questions for more info about my booking process and rescheduling policy before sending the booking fee! *Because I am only one person scheduling months of appointments, there is a chance that I will have to reschedule your appointment! Please let me know ahead of time when filling out the booking form if rescheduling is not an option/ if you can only book certain dates, as the booking fee is still non-refundable in these scenarios!

+ What is your custom booking process like?

After you submit a proposal and I review it, I will send you an email if I’m interested in taking on your project. I'll also email you any questions, available dates, and instructions on where to send the booking fee. After I receive the booking fee your appointment is confirmed (sending emails asking if I received it clogs up my inbox) and we can then brainstorm more about your piece.

+ What if I have to reschedule?

I charge 25% of your appointment cost for cancellations within a week of your appointment, and 50% of your appointment cost for cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment. If you give me more than a week's notice, rescheduling is free. If you no show or request to reschedule three times in a row I reserve the right to cancel your appointment in which case your booking and drawing fee would be forefited. Consultations are complimentary but if rescheduled within 24 hours I charge a $100 consultation fee for a second consultation.

+ What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

Eat a good breakfast, drink lots of water and get as much sleep as possible the night before your appointment! I suggest packing a snack the day of your appointment. Avoid alcohol the night before your appointment. For best results, moisturize the area you want tattooed every day the week before your tattoo. Wear clothes you’re ok with getting ink or sharpie on! For back pieces: consider bringing in a button up long sleeve shirt (like a flannel) so that you can wear it backwards during the appointment to keep covered/ warm! For sternum/chest pieces: button up shirts or hoodies are also a good option to keep warm during your appointment. I have pasties available as well!
